Never Turn Down Anything But Your Coat Collar!

Of all of the advice my grandmother Lois shared, "Never turn down anything but your coat collar" is the truest piece and it shapes who I am today. But, what does it mean? 


It means, take the risk! 


What if you take a risk and fail? I stood up for myself or others at work and now things seem worse...


What if you take a risk and succeed? I got the promotion and now my new responsibilities are overwhelming...


I can work with you to prepare for risks and develop an action plan for dealing with positive and negative outcomes, using strategies and tools I've created from a lifetime of risk taking. 

Leading Transformational Change

Throughout my career, I've always had a knack for dealing with and been given the "difficult" people, projects, and organizations. I've had to fire people, been publicly bullied, and blamed for decisions that were not mine. I've managed workloads beyond the capacity of most, led an organization in financial dire straights through the pandemic, dealt with volunteer leaders going to prison, and led a lawsuit against three departments of the federal government. I've shed tears, felt everything from desperation to rage, and have been mentally and physically exhausted.


Looking back, it has all been worth it. 


Transformational change requires difficult decisions that lead to our desired outcomes. That change, while necessary, can negatively impact internal and external stakeholders as well as the people leading that change. Our responsibility as leaders is to do everything within our power to lead with kindness through the most difficult moments. 


Together we can create a plan that will help you manage the difficulties of transformational change, lessen the negative impact on others, and feel proud when the work is done.
